Bhubaneswar: In order to reach out to people and create awareness about the ruling government’s developmental programmes and schemes, the BJD began its ‘Jansampark Padyatra’ on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik launched the padyatra programme from Ganganagarpalli in Bhubaneswar.

Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik said that his government would continue the programmes stopped by the NDA government, from state’s own resources.

The BJD government will not allow these programmes to be stopped and will continue with the state resources, the chief Minister of Eastern Indian state said while addressing his party’s 10-day mass contact programme ‘Jansampark Padyatra’.

The programme will continue till October 11 during which the Biju Janata Dal leaders will cover the nook and corner of the state and highlight state government’s achievements.

They will also draw the attention towards the alleged negligence towards Odisha by the NDA government at the Centre.

Patnaik said that his government has taken steps for overall development of the backward districts.

Several senior members of the party and the ministers, MLAs joined the padyatra across the districts today.

On the other hand, the Odisha BJP is scheduled to kick start Satyagrah across the State today. The party will highlight the Centre’s achievement and the areas of failure of the ruling BJD during the programme.
