Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: The BJD has geared up its preparations ahead of the Panchayat elections to be held on Feb 13. As a part of the preparation process, a meeting of the BJD organisational districts had been organised at Naveen Niwas on Monday. During the meeting, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conducted a discussion with Ganjam district’s MLAs, MPs, ministers and party leaders and also discussed about the strategies for the upcoming Panchayat elections.
Patnaik has asked to prepare a list of candidates having a clean image and also asked each MLA to suggest three candidates’ name for the Zilla Parishad and submit the list to him, informed Surya Narayan Patro, senior BJD Spokesperson. Chief Minister also asked to sort out the dispute regarding Zilla Parishad candidate’s selection, informed Maheswar Mohanty, former minister and Ganjam poll observer. As Jan 17 has been fixed as the last date for filling up of nominations, specific time limit is also there to submit the candidates’ list, he further added.
