Bhubaneswar: May 17: BJP criticised the decision of the Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly to end the 2nd phase of current Budget Session ahead of schedule and said, ruling BJD government is trying to choke the voice of opposition.

Party President Basant Panda said, ‘It is the duty of opposition to seek clarification from the ruling bench on the issues pertaining to the problems of the people of the state. Accordingly, we sought replies from the chief minister on certain issues. But, it is unfortunate that, ruling party BJD and Chief Minister wanted to run away from the issues’. He further added, ‘After the house is adjourned, Chief Minister made a media statement outside the Assembly, not inside the house. This is simply unfortunate’.

Panda said, ‘BJP had tried its best to raise the issues like chit fund scam, links of minister Sanjay Dasburma with the chit fund companies, refund of money to the duped investors and the statement of the chairman of Chit Fund Commission of Inquiry, Justice MM Das in a BJD sponsored event. But, the ruling party always tried to escape from the issues and finally adjourned the state assembly four days before schedule.
