Bhubaneswar, Dec 29: The Bharatiya Janata Party alleged massive irregularities in the Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited and demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.
In a press conference, Party Spokesperson Sameer Mohanty on Tuesday made this allegation and said out of Rs 200 core sanctioned for computer education training, Rs 177 crore has been given to unauthorised outside companies.
He said the OKCL is unable to provide details about the expenditure and, hence, the Government should order a CBI probe to bring out the truth.
It should be noted, Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited was established in the year 2011, in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha as a joint venture promoted by the Higher Technical Education Department, Government of Odisha & Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited, Pune to create new paradigm in education and development through universalisation and integration of Information Technology in teaching, learning and educational management processes in particular and socio-economic transformative processes in general.
