Bhubaneswar: June 06: Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray from BJP will not attend Vikash Utsav of Bharatiya Janata Party to be held at Rourkela. He has already left for Kolkata yesterday and expressed his unhappiness over the issue of converting Ispat General Hospital into a Super speciality hospital.

He has clearly spelt out before leaving to Kolkata that converting IGH into a Super Speciality Hospital must not take more than 2-3 months. But, it is yet to happen, even after 14 months of announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During his visit to Rourkela on April 1, 2015, the Prime Minister had announced upgradtion of IGH into a super specialty hospital-cum-medical college. Giving his comment to a private channel here, Ray said, ‘It may take time to start a Medical College, but to convert a running hospital into a super speciality hospital must not take more than 2-3 months’. He further added, ‘ Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will be here to witness the celebration, he should spelt out clearly regarding the date of commissioning of Medical College at IGH as well as converting it into a super speciality Hospital’.

Union Tribal Affairs minister Jual Oram, who has been trying to convince Dilip Ray said, “He (Ray) has fully cooperated with us for the success of Vikash Utsav’.
