Bhubaneswar: BJP on Monday today announced to gherao the Revenue Inspectors offices across the State on September 23 to protest what they alleged the casual approach of the BJD government towards the plight of the farmers.
The agitation will highlight the plight of the farmers who are faced with drought situation due to scanty rainfall.
The party alleged that the government did not have any policy or direction to mitigate the suffering of the farmers who are now staring at the spectre of drought in over 22 disticts of the State.
No revenue official has so far met any farmer anywhere, it alleged adding at many places there were no Village Level Workers or RIs.
There are no amins at some places, it said.
The party said, “The State Government has not made any assessment of the extent of the damage. Whatever it says about assessment of damage is untrue.”
