Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: On the evening of Sunday, activists of BJP staged a demonstration at the Rajmahal Square demanding the immediate resignation and arrest of BMC Mayor Anant Narayan Jena in his alleged involvement in the murder of B.tech Student Rishi Mohanty and a sex tape.
After the security personnel attempted to foil the bid by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) members to surround the Mayor’s residence, the members were seen in a clash with the police during the demonstration.
However, no one was seen injured during the incident and was smoothly brought under control by the forces. PCC president, Prasad Harichandan also took a strong objection on the notice issued to NSUI president Itish Pradhan by the Commisionerate police.
He added, that the police are serving a notice to the student’s president, which is unacceptable and they wont be able to take any action or inquiry against Itish. Protest against this will be intensified in the following days.
