Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: The BJP will intensify its agitation against the BJD government in State under the leadership of the new Party president, senior party leader Suresh Pujari has said.
BJP would agitate on issues like corruption in mines, chit-fund scam and massive irregularities in selection of beneficiaries under National Food Security Act, he said in southern Odisha Berhampur district on Wednesday.
Claiming that internal bickering within BJD has already started, Pujari said infighting in the party coupled with charges of several scams levelled against the government would weaken Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
BJP would emerge as the only alternative of the ruling party in the state, he claimed.
He criticised the state govenrment’s decision on extension of cheap meal scheme.
“The economic condition of the poor people will not be developed with this scheme. Instead of introducing these, the government should take up the schemes which would improve the economic condition of the people and their sustainable development,” he added.
