Black money issue; SIT holds meeting today

Cuttack, Sept 12: In order to take stock of tax evasion and money laundering cases, a meeting regarding black money issue, chaired by Justice Arijit Pashayat, vice chairman of SIT will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) today. The director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will also be present in the meeting.

As per the recent information from Justice Pashayat, SIT has recommended Centre to curb black money from the economy following which, cheque format would be used in case of money transaction for Rs 3 lakh above and a person will not be allowed to keep cash money of more than Rs 15 lakh.

As per sources, around 11 agencies are working under SIT headed by Justice MB Shah and Justice Pashayat.
