Visually impaired man belonging from Nayagarh has finally cracked the OPSC 2015. Identified as Sanyas Kumar Behera of Kishoreprasad village of Nayagarh disctrict has finally topped among the 13 physically challenged candidates, who have craked the OPSC 2015.

Out of 670 select candidates for the top state-level jobs, 8 visually impaired and 5 hearing impaired candidates have been shortlisted in the 2015 OPSC examination. Out of which Sanyas has been ranked at 220 in the list.

Sanyas started his revolt against prohibition of physically challenged candidates from appearing in OPSC in 2006. In 2011, he filed a PIL in Orissa High Court seeking candidature of physically challenged OPSC examination aspirants. In 2014, the Orissa High Court accepted his PIL and ordered OPSC to include physically candidates. But no such provision was made in the notification issued by OPSC for OPSC 2015. Later, after he appealed before the state commissioner in July 2015, the same year in august, OPSC changed his notifications allowing visually impaired candidates to appear in the examination.

To be noted, Sanyas was born with complete blindness in Kishoreprasad village under Gania block in Nayagarh district. He completed his matriculation from Bhima bhoi School for blind in Bhubaneswar and then graduation from Alagappa University in Public administration. He also has a special degree in office management.
