Bhubaneswar, Aug 10: Local Self-Governance Day would be celebrated by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on August 31 and for this occasion a civilian parade consisting around 1,500 people would be organized by the civic body.
The responsibility of the civic body and its achievements till now would be presented to the people, during the parade, said Ananta Narayan Jena, Bhubaneswar Mayor.
School and college students, scouts, guides, NCC cadets and police band would also participate in the rally and five cultural troupes are also likely to participate in the march which would start from the BMC office.
Community centres, water ATMs and drinking water scheme would be inaugurated on that day. Along with this the BMC would also lay foundation stones of new projects.
