Boggies of three trains catch fire

As many as five boggies of three trains on Thursday were damaged in a fire incident in the Puri Railway Station.

However, lo loss of life was reported in the incidents even as the Railway authorities ordered a high level probe into the incident.

The incident caused panic in the train and the Station authorities cancelled all incoming and outgoing trains from the Station.

Railway Protection Force personnel took into custody three persons on suspicion.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire was first noticed in two bogies of New Delhi-Puri Nandankanan Express coach no 11 and 12 and later in two bogies of Tirupati-Puri Express which had arrived from Tirupati nearly half an hour.

Officials said one bogie of Puri-Howrah Express, scheduled to leave from platform No-6 of the station also caught fire.

He confirmed that no train will be allowed to enter or leave the station pending inquiry.
