Bhubaneswar, Dec 26: The audience at the Janta Maidan was enthralling into the tunes of famous Bollywood singer, Kavita Krishnamurthy at the 11th cultural evening of the Toshali Crafts Mela here on Sunday.
She began with Siva Vandana and went on to sing several hit numbers of hers’ like Bole Chudiyan, Hawa Hawai, Dil Diya Re and Aaj Main Upar. She played her trumpcard by singing the Odia song, Mora Mana Udi Jaye Re which swayed the audience away.
A flock of five thousand people of all age groups were seen there who had come to catch a glimpse of this eminent personality. People were seen dancing to her songs at the do. Earlier on Dec 18, Indian Idol fame, Amit Sana also performed at the festival mesmerizing many with his melodious voice.
Principal Secretary of MSME Department LN Gupta attended the event as chief guest. State Handloom, Textiles & Handicraft Department Secretary Chitra Arumugam was also present. Today traditional Odiya dance forms like Paika dance, Chhou dance and Ranapa dance will be performed by various troupes. Also song and dance events will be presented by differently-abled artistes on Dec 27.
