Budget Session Begins With Governor’s Speech

Bhubaneswar: The Budget session of Odisha Assembly commenced with the speech by the Governor of Odisha Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Thursday. He started his speech with, “Jai Jagannath”

  • The Governor’s speech in the Legislative Assembly started with, “Jai Jagannath”
  • The Governor then said, Odisha is a state rich in mineral resources. Odisha is a land of rich cultural heritage and achievements.
  • Poor, youth, women empowerment are the main pillars of the state government. In view of this the government has increased the price of paddy procurement (MSP) by Rs. 800.
  • The government is working towards the development of Odia asmita. The DGP conference, Odia excellence, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas have been successfully organized
  • The government has implemented a new national education policy. Odisha will have a prominent role in developed India by 2047
  • Kamdhenu scheme has been started for dairy farmers and their profit
  • The Government has kept its promise and has opened the treasury of the Shrimandir (Ratna Bhandar)
  • The Governor said that 1.5 lakh government jobs are be filled in five years. As many as 65,000 posts to be filled in the first two years. As many as 50,000 posts shall be created in the textile industry in two years. More than 24,000 posts have been filled in 2024-25.
  • The state government will empower 25 lakh women as Lakhpati Didi by 2027. In the financial year 2024-25, about 10 lakh women will be provided with incentives to achieve this level of income.
