Budget Session to Reconvene Today

Bhubaneswar: The Budget session of Odisha Assembly will reconvene today and will last till April 5. The Panchayati Raj Diwas controversy is likely to keep the floor of the house intense today.

The Opposition is likely to target the ruling government over the disrespect meted out former CM Biju Patnaik in the Budget session. In addition, the rising commotion in the state, law and order discrepancy, atrocities against women, Polavaram issue and Mahanadi controversy is also on the list of the BJD.

On the other hand, the Congress is expected to attack the government over rising crimes against women, the corruption in government jobs. Further the Congress has taken to the roads to protest these matters.

The ruling government led by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is gearing up with facts and figures to lash out at the Opposition party and Congress. March 30 being a Sunday and 31 being Id-Ul-Fitr, the Expenditure bill will be passed on March 29. This budget session is scheduled to end on April 5.

During the first part of the Budget session LoP Naveen Patnaik slammed the government and said that the school bag is heavy but the study material is empty. He launched a scathing attack on the CM and said that how does changing the nomenclature of  ‘Skilled in Odisha’ into ‘Skilled for the World’ going to help the people of Odisha.
