Koraput/Puri, Apr 4: Demanding a change in route permit and time changes the city buses, the Private Bus Owners Association of Koraput (PBOAK) today called for a 12-hour bandh, resulting to the passengers’ suffering.
Due to the bandh, transport to the rural and remotest areas of Koraput has been stopped, resulting in many commuters suffering to travel. Alleging about the matter, the association said that the city busses are running against there permitted timing and even the permit is unauthorised.
Notably, earlier, the local urban transport trust here had also protested against the RTO for providing undue favours to the private bus owners.
On the other hand, at Puri, the services from Puri to other places in the state has also been halted following to a torture on a Puri bus staff at the Cuttack bus terminal, few days back. Leading to this, the Nilagiri Motor Employees Association has also staged a demonstration.
While in general 300 buses that join the commuters from places to places in the state has been halted, hardly a few OSRTC buses were seen on the road today.
