Business has greater role in building of a humane world: Prof Rajendra Sisodia

Bhubaneswar: June 06: Prof   Rajendra   Sisodia,   a   reckoned   scholar   and   Author   of   Global   Conscious   Capitalism Movement,  while delivering 10th lecture of the Odisha Knowledge Hub lecture here today in secretariat conference hall opined  that business had a greater role to play towards building a more humane world.He maintained that the doctrines of conscious capitalism should focus on higher purposes beyond mere economic profit and well being of all stake holders not simply more return to just the share holders. He went on to add that conscious leadership and culture of trust & fairness in the business are other doctrines of conscious capitalism. He said, ‘capitalism has resources, technology, dynamism and wealth. It only needs to be  tuned  with great wisdom  of  humanity for contributing towards human well being’.    He recommended that Govt should instill these doctrines in to the business community by applauding &celebrating the right course of action taken by the industries and business houses. Govt has to put in place such norms, regulations and facilitating mechanisms that guide and lead the business community for contributing towards a more humane society.   Replying to a media query after the lecture, Development Commissioner Sri R. Balakrishnan said that   Prof   Sisodia   lighted   upon   the   new   concept   of   conscious   capitalism.   He   added   that   conscious capitalism is not just an idea or utopian thinking, it is a practical doctrine. Prof Sisodia cited the case studies   which   proved  that  the   business   houses  who   adopted   the  doctrines   of ‘conscious  capitalism’flourished and are flourishing in the world market. Awareness and voluntarism in business community can materialize the objectives of ‘conscious capitalism’ to a greater degree.   Hon’ble Minister, Industries and Housing & Urban Development Sri Niranjan Pujari presented OKH memento to Prof Sisodia to commemorate his visit to the State. Hon’ble Minister, Information &Public Relations and Rural Development Sri Bikram Arukh, Hon’ble Minister Health & Family Welfareand Law Sri Pratap Jena, Chief Secretary Sri Aditya Prasad Padhi , Chairman Odisha Skill Development Authority Sri Subrato  Bagchi, State Legislatures,   Additional  Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries,Secretaries of  various departments along with senior officers and academicians from IIT,  Institute of physics,  IMMT, IIIT,  Bhubaneswar participated in the lecture. In  view  of growing  popularity of the lecture, it was extended to 2 other      conference halls of Odisha secretariat and various district headquarters   through   video   conferencing.   The   Collectors   along   with   students   and   teachers   of   leading educational institutions from various districts participated in the lecture through this video conferencing.
