Cancer awareness programme at ECoR Central Hospital

Bhubaneswar, Feb 5: In a bid to create awareness amongst the masses, particularly Railway Employees and their family members, about the importance of early diagnosis of Cancer, a Cancer Awareness Programme was organised today under the auspices of East Coast Railway Central Hospital at Mancheswar here.

The event was attended by Medical Director of East Coast Railway Central Hospital Dr JP Panda, Additional Chief Health Director of Railway Central Hospital at Mancheswar Dr GC Dash and other Cancer Specialists.

 Speaking on the occasion, Panda said that a change in the attitude of the doctors was imperative.

 “There is a need to realise that this is an era of Teamwork and this is needed during the diagnosis of the disease and after that, treatment can be taken up by the super specialists,” he said.

 Dash made a power point presentation o­n the theme of the world Cancer Day- “We Can Beat Cancer” to create awareness amongst the Railway employees & their family members.

 All the dignitaries and guests present unanimously stressed upon build-up of infrastructure which will not o­nly spread awareness but also help Cancer diagnosis and treatment reach in remote areas also.
