Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has intensified checks at key locations ahead of Republic Day celebration. Bhubaneswar has been put on high alert, with authorities ramping up security across the city.
They are focusing on identifying and monitoring any suspicious activities in the city. During these checks, many youths were detained, and their vehicles were also seized after being found in an intoxicated state. The increased vigilance aims to ensure safety and maintain order as the city prepares for the national celebration.
Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra said, “Following the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and the Director General of Police (DGP), we have been directed to enhance security for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations and other events. We initiated this special blocking and checking procedure to minimise criminal activities in the city, particularly during nighttime, while prioritizing the safety of our citizens.”
