Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the multi-crore chit fund across the country on Thursday challenged the bail granted to tainted BJD MLA Pravat Tripathy in the scam in the Supreme Court. The apex court admitting the probe agency’s special leave petition plea issued notices to Tripathy.
Tripathy was arrested by the CBI for his complicity in the ArthaTatwa chit fund scam and the Central investigating agency has filed interim charge- sheet against the Ponzi firm.
Orissa High Court had granted bail to Tripathy on March 5 this year on health grounds.
