Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: In connection with the multi-crore Seashore chit fund scam, CBI official have today raided 25 places in Odisha including the residence of ruling BJD’s Balasore MP Rabindra Jena and Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Prabhat Biswal.
Houses of several others, including chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s office staffer Saroj Sahu, were raided by the central agency, said sources. Sahu who is said to be a trusted man of Patnaik has allegedly been connived with the Seashore Group to cheat poor investors.
While the houses and offices of key persons of seashore group are being raided, officials also conducted raid at one of Biswal’s relative’s residence in Cuttack. Residence of Choudwar municipality councilor Kamalalanta Das was also searched in link with the scam, said sources.
The agency strongly suspects the involvement of these people in the scam. While further details will unfold soon, said sources.
This will be the third time, that Jena will be questions in the scam links by the CBI. While last month Jena was grilled for 7 hours in connection with the multi-crore-chit fund scam.
