Centurion University Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Woodworking Engineering Lab

Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: Centurion University, in an effort to provide employment-linked skill training to differently-abled youth has partnered with leading Austrian Company, FELEDER Group to set up a state-of-the-art woodworking engineering learning lab on its Campus at Jatni, Bhubaneswar.

The inspiration for this step comes from the success Centurion University experienced with skill training courses offered for differently-abled youth with Café Coffee Day.

The new Woodworking Learning Lab is especially designed to create a teaching and learning ecosystem for youth with disabilities (hearing impaired) to earn their livelihood with decency and dignity through self-employment, employment and entrepreneurship.

LN Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary, Skill Development & Technical Training Department, Govt of Odisha, Hansjorg Felder, Chairman of the Board of the Felder Group (Austria) and  John Peter Calverley, Export Director dedicated the learning lab in the presence of a team of officials from the Felder Group Austria and India –  Tusar Tandel , Director (India),  Rajaram Joshi, India Service Manager,  Chhaya Shah, Director (Admin & Accounts) and  Krutik Mistry, Regional Manager.

The Managing Director of Felder Group, Austria, Hansjorg Felder greatly appreciated the zeal and commitment displayed in every learning lab cum workshop of the University. He commented, “I have seen many engineering campuses in the past, but has not witnessed so much focus on skill development. Centurion has all the latest in technology and the attention given to details is mind-boggling”.

John Peter Calverley, Export Director said, “It is great to know that the Felder machinery are going to be used in an environment where highly skilled trainers can effectively train well-qualified students.”

The President of Centurion University spoke on the occasion saying, “As the youngest University in the country to be accredited Grade-A by NAAC, we are working hard to create new inroads for integrated, inclusive and aspirational education framework that would benefit all youth, with special focus on the segment, which is not-so-fortunate economically or academically.”
