Chhattisgarh to build Saberi River bridge linking Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Nov 12: The Chhatisgarh government has proposed to constructed a bridge on Saberi River to ensure connectivity to Motu in Malkangiri district in Odisha.

The proposed bridge will be constructed at a cost of Rs 30 crore and is to be completed in two years.

The bridge will connect Malkangiri’s Motu with Chhattishgarh’s Sukma.

Home secretary of Chhattisgarh, Police IG of Bastar, Sukma collector, SP and other senior officials have visited and reviewed the construction site.

Similarly, the prospects of completion of the bridge on Sileru River which will connect Motu with Andhra Pradesh as a part of the Ranchi-Vijayawada corridor, have improved.

Due to the importance of the bridge, the State government had written to the Andhra Pradesh government to expedite the work. Recently, the Central government had handed over the responsibility of completion of the bridge to Andhra Pradesh government.
