Bhubaneswar, July 14 : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will leave today for a four day tour to Delhi to attend the Inter-State Council meeting presided over by the Prime Minister on July 16. The Inter-State Council meeting is being held after an interval of 10 years. The last meeting of the Council was held in 2006 during UPA regime.
Apart from economic and social planning of the states, the inter-state relations, internal security and other issues would be debated at the Council meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the chairman of the Inter-State Council while the Chief Ministers of all the states are the members.
Sources said Chief Secretary AP Padhi will also be participating in the meeting along with Naveen Patnaik. This is the 11th meeting of the Inter-State Council, which was established under Article 263 of the Constitution in 1990.
