Bhubaneswar: A month after a child’s covid infection, the chances of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome has been seen increasing among children between 0-10 years of age.
It was not identified in the first wave. The second wave however has showed that many children, coming to the hospital, have reported with multisystem inflammatory syndrome. A month after recovering from the COVID, they experience headaches, diarrhoea, and vomiting. As soon as these symptoms appear, hospitalization on the advice of a doctor will reduce mortality. Dr Niranjan Mishra, director of public health, gave the information.
He said the chief minister had directed all hospitals, including the district’s main hospital, to increase oxygen cylinders and beds for children. Arrangements are underway for the ICU and HDU arrangements. All hospitals will soon have this treatment facility. However, all medical colleges do already have this facility.
