CM advised to make availability of text books in a week

Bhubaneswar, July 22: By reviewing about the progress and timely distribution of the text book in the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the School and Mass Education and Higher Education departments’ officials to make text books available for the students for plus II courses within a week.

Text books in the markets are yet to be available, even though classes have been started in the colleges. Chief Minister has directed to speed up the process of book distribution, informed Debi Prasad Mishra, Minister of School and Mass education to media persons after the meeting.

Due to unavailability of report which was supposed to be submitted by the academic committee, led to a delay in the printing method of the books and so the text books could not be printed and distributed by the stipulated time of July 15, reported Pradip Panigrahi, Minister of Higher Education. The concerned officials have been directed to complete the work by the stipulated time, he further added.

Aditya Prasad Padhi, Chief Secretary and Gitika Patnaik, Director of Text Book Bureau were also present in the meeting.
