Bhuabneswar, Oct 24: Keeping an eye on the preparedness of the State for the cyclone Kyant, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has called for an emergency meeting on Tuesday.  Though the impact of the cyclone on Odisha has not been confirmed by the IMD yet, the State is still being prepared to tackle any untoward situation due to the cyclone.

P K Mohapatra, Special Relief Commissioner has advised the farmers to cover the harvested crops in the yard. Informing people not to panic, he said that Odisha may not be affected by the cyclone as the IMD has predicted that it will move towards Bangladesh.

However, all the coastal district collectors have been warned to stay alert while fishermen have also been advised not to go into the sea, Mohapatra added.

It is being predicted that the effect of the cyclone will be felt on October 27 in Odisha. The State will most likely experience infrequent rainfall from 25-26 October under the cyclone influence.
