Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed his ministers and department secretaries to tour at least four days to the districts every month.
Patnaik asked the ministers and senior officials of the departments during a review meeting on Thursday.
He asked ministers and officials to monitor the development and welfare programmes launched in the districts. Their visits will begin from November 1.
Patnaik issued instructions to complete electrification work in Nuapada, Kandhamal, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur by Oct 15 next year. The Energy Department was asked to form a Project Monitoring unit to monitor the progress.
Recently, two senior officials had visited some backward and Maoist-hit districts and are understood to have submitted their reports to Patnaik.
