Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: On Friday, in an important review meeting on Guaranteed Employment Scheme, the Chief Minister laid stress on generating more guaranteed employment for backward tribal in coming years by proper schemes and their implementation. The meeting was held at the State Secretariat here.
The CM also mentioned that this financial year, about four crores of man days under the Central Government’s flagship MGNREG (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee) programme have been created and for this purpose, around Rs 1,243 crores has been spent.
He directed the department to ensure 100 percent employment to tribal.
The Government would launch special provisions from the coming year to increase participation of tribal and poor in the guaranteed employment schemes.
According to the programme, special training would be given on combating soil erosion and farming practices and also, by hiking labour days under MGNREGS by 118 percent, the special provision to eradicate bonded labour would be given stress.
