CM Mohan Announces to Install Smart Card Devices in Buses

Bhubaneswar: To bolster road safety in Bhubaneswar, Chief minister Mohan Majhi announced to install smart card devices in all buses in Odisha. Speaking at the National Road safety programme he said this. This step is taken to reduce the number of accidents in the capital city.

Discussions with IIT Madras is going on in this direction. In this the smart card device will beep a siren if the driver drowses off during driving. It will also beep during rash driving by the driver. In case of drunk driving also, the smart device will send a siren to beware the driver. Road hypnosis for the long-distance drivers can also be avoided with the use of this smart device. The government of Odisha will make the announcement in the upcoming budget.

Chief Minister Majhi also inaugurated the Odisha Yatri app on the occasion. This will help the people to book autos and taxis like Ola and Uber in just one click. These apps are run on a commercial basis and the middlemen is benefitting from these apps. These companies are charging commission from the drivers. To bring about transparency Odisha government has launched the app.

He further announced that 2,000 more traffic posts will be created.
