Bhubaneswar: Feb 24: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik asked officials to ensure drinking water supply in both urban and rural areas during summer. Chief Minister reviewed the arrangements made for drinking water availability and asked the officials to complete the related maintenance work by March 31, so that people will not have to face any drinking water problem in summer. Also, he asked Panchayati Raj and Rural Development department to co-ordinate and prepare an action plan for drinking water availability in rural areas. An extension officer will be given charge of drinking water supply in every Panchayat and they will brief regarding the drinking water situation of their area to BDOs. The Urban Development Department has also prepared an action plan to ensure drinking water supply in Urban areas
