Cuttack, March 15: Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Corporator Ranjita Biswal was on Monday quizzed by the police here for her alleged links with the gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalsamanta.
According to sources, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Corporator of ward no 7 was interrogated by Mahila Police here.
Earlier on February 13 also, the Mahila Police had questioned the Corporator for several hours over the same issue.
Notably, Biswal was the Joint Secretary of Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangh, a now-dissolved organisation floated by the Dhalsamanta brothers.
Meanwhile, the gangster brothesrs were shifted to separate prisons from Choudwar Circle Jail.
A directive in this regard had been issued to the respective jails by ADG (Prisons).
The elder of the two–Sushant– was first to be taken out of the jail and transferred to Jharpara Special Jail in Bhubaneswar. A few minutes later, Sushil was transferred in a van to Balasore.
Notably, the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court on March 11 had allowed the Odisha police to shift Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta from Choudwar Circle Jail to other jails in the state over security concerns.
