Bhubaneswar: The cold wave condition in Odisha will continue for another 24 hour, predicted the Bhubaneswar-based regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today.
According to the IMD, cold wave condition is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Jagatsinghpur and Angul till tomorrow 8.30 AM. The weather department has issued a yellow warning for the same.
The department also has forecasted that dense fog will occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput and Kandhamal district and shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Kalahandi and Sundargarh. Besides, dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha during this period of time.
A yellow warning for dense fog also has been issued over one or two places over the district of Koraput and Kandhamal from 8.30 AM of December 17 to 8.30 AM of December 18.
Likewise, light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Ganjam and Gajapati and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha from 8.30 AM of December 17 to 8.30 AM of December 18.
Moreover, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Kalahandi and Sundargarh.
According to the IMD, there will not be large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next 24 hours and thereafter gradual rise by 3-5 degree Celsius in subsequent three days over the districts of Odisha.
While forecasting for Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood for the next 24 hours, the weather scientist said that a maximum and minimum temperature is very likely to be around 26 oC and 10 oC respectively.
