Jajpur, Jan 3: For the second time that too in just a span of three months a no-trust motion has once again been brought against Vyasanagar Municipality chairperson, Sabita Rout. Earlier, Rout had been debarred from the BJD over disciplinary issues and so, a formal no-trust vote was brought against the chairperson by 13 councilors.

In Sept 2016, the Congress councilors along with the support of Rout’s party members had bought out a no-confidence motion against her. Last month, the Congress with the support of seven dissatisfied BJD members had moved the no-confidence motion. School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra had intervened in the matter and bailed her out from the no confidence motion.

In this 26-member municipality, BJD has the majority with 16 members followed by Congress with nine and a lone independent member.
