Congress releases names for eight Lok Sabha Constituencies of Odisha till now

Bhubaneswar: March 23: Samarendra Mishra, Son of Congress Leader Narasingha Mishra will contest from Bolangir Lok Sabha seat and Saptagiri Ulaka got ticket from Koraput Lok Sabha seat. Till date, Congress has already announced candidates for 8 out of 9 Lok Sabha seats to go for Poll in first and second phase of Lok Sabha Polls. It is yet to announce the candidate for the Aska Lok Sabha seat.

Names of the candidates finalised by Congress for Eight Lok Sabha Constituencies are Bhakta Charan Das (Kalahandi), Pradeep Majhi (Nabarangpur), V.Chandrasekhar Naidu (Berhampur), Saptagiri Ulaka (Koraput), Pradeep Kumar Devta (Bargarh), George Tirkey (Sundergarh), Samarendra Mishra (Bolangir) and Manoj Kumar Acharya (Kandhamal).

Also, in the second Phase, Congress announced names of candidates for 54 Assembly segments of Odisha. Earlier, it had announced names for 36 assembly segments of the State.

Bismaya Mahapatra, who was given a ticket from Digapahandi Assembly constituency in the first list, has been replaced by Prafulla Panda in the second list.

Also, it is clear that, Ripunath Seth of Congress will contest elections against BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik from Bijepur. The sitting Congress MLA Prafulla Majhi, who has won thrice from Talasara Assembly segment and is considered a traditional stronghold of the party, has once again been fielded from the constituency.

Interestingly, Muktikanta Biswal, who had earlier dragged attention by walking 1,350 kilometres to Delhi to remind PM Modi of his promises for better facilities at Ispat General Hospital, has got a Congress ticket to fight Odisha Elections 2019 from Rourkela.
