NEW DELHI: April 30: Congress will go for a gherao of Parliament on May 6 to highlight issues like Uttarakhand, draught and deliberate lies against opposition.
Party spokesman Randeep Surjewala said that gherao would be the culmination of a “save democracy” march. He alleged that this Gherao would be done to protest against the attempt by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government to disturb duly elected governments as it was witnessed in Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Party chief Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi, leaders and party workers will march from Jantar Mantar early morning on next Friday to gherao Parliament.
It is said workers from adjoining states of Delhi like Haryana, Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh will participate in gherao.
