Puri, Nov 29: Controversial remark given by Ollywood actor, Tatwa Prakash Satapathy aka Papu Pom Pom against Lord Jagannath and goddess Tulsi at the Beach Festival in Puri led him into huge trouble.
By protesting the statements, Jagannath Sena, has demanded the arrest of Papu Pom Pom and so regarding the same has filed a complaint at the Sea Beach Police station.
They also burnt the simulacra of the actor and also demanded an apology in front Singhadwar by Prostrate.
Papu must be taken into custody as he had insulated Lord Jagannath and Maa Brundabati (Tulsi). Section 295, 295 (B), 297 and 298 of IPC should be issued against him, said Priyadarshan Patnaik Sena convener.
It may be noted that, while performing a stand up on stage, during the beach festival, Papu said that the basil or tulsi leaves on the streets over which the dogs pee everyday are used in the rituals of lord Jagannath. He again expressed that those who say Jay Jagannath repeatedly are all sinners, said sources. Tension nabbed over as followers of Jagannath present at the spot protested the act and created a havoc demanding apologies from Papu. Situation came under control after Papu apologized for his statements on stage.
