Court sends TMC MP Tapas Paul to Jharpada jail on judicial remand till Jan 19 in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, Jan 7: Yesterday the Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Tapas Paul arrested by the CBI for his alleged complicity in the Rose Valley chit fund scam was sent to jail after his second three-day remand period ended. The Central investigating agency produced Paul before the Special CBI Court here after the end of his remand. The Court sent the TMC lawmaker to the Jharpada Special Jail here on judicial remand till Jan 19. The Court had kept its verdict reserved after conducting a hearing on Paul’s bail plea. As per the CBI sources, Paul is said to have spilled out several crucial facts during his interrogation. The central investigating agency has come across clinching evidence of Rose Valley having funded Europe trips of now arrested second TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay.
