Bhubaneswar, Nov 16: Govt. of India has decided to provide sufficient fund to Branch Post Offices to meet the demand of POSB (Post Office Savings Bank) customers for performing deposit / withdrawal and opening of new accounts smoothly at Branch Post Offices.
All Post Offices in Odisha have been directed by the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle that in the present scenario, the customers especially in rural areas should not face any difficulties in making deposits or withdrawal of money from their accounts standing opened at Branch Post offices. The customers shall avail the facilities of deposit / opening of new accounts with WOS banknotes up to Rs.25000/- per day and withdrawal of money in new currency upto limit of Rs.24000/- per week.
This facility is available up to 30.12.2016 subject to further revision and decision of Govt. of India from time to time. The general public are advised to take advantage of this postal service which is available nearest to their homes.
