The Low Pressure Area over central parts of Andaman Sea & neighborhood with the associated cyclonic   circulation   extending   up to   mid-­tropospheric   levels   persists.

It   is   likely   to   move   west-northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression by tomorrow, the 2nd  December and further intensify into a cyclonic storm over Central Bay of Bengal during subsequent 24 hours. It likely to move northwestwards, intensify further and reach near north Andhra Pradesh-­Odisha coasts by the morning of 04th  December, 2021.

As per the forecast, squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely to commence along & off Odisha coasts from the mid-night of 3rd  December and increase gradually becoming 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph from 4th  morning, for the subsequent 12 hours.

According to the Met Centre,  heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri and Jagatsinghpur on December 3.

On December 4, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Jajpur districts are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, and Jagatsinghpur.

Predicting heavy downpour, an orange warning (be prepared) has also been issued for Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, and Puri for December 5.

Some places of Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Khordha, Ganjam and Gajapati districts are also likely to witness heavy rainfall on that day, the Met centre said.

Sea condition would be High over central Bay of Bengal on 3rd  December and High to very High over west-central & northwest Bay of Bengal from the early morning of 4th  December for the subsequent 24 hours, said IMD.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into southeast & adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal on 2nd & 3rd December, west-central & adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal and along & off north Andhra Pradesh – Odisha- West Bengal coasts during 3rd  – 5th  December 2021. Fishermen whoever out at Sea are advised to return to coast by the morning of 2nd  December 2021.
