Cuttack, Feb 12: Commissionerate Police on Thursday took the Dhalsamant brothers outside the State in their investigation into the alleged murder of Dipu Mallick and Om by the duo.

The criminal brothers –Sushil and Sushant — were earlier scheduled to be produced before sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) here for hearing on the police plea for a lie detection test.

Police sources said, two investigating teams of the commissionerate police are investigating the murder of Dipu and Om outside the State.

The investigating team will interrogate the D-brothers about their involvement in the murders and the disposal of the bodies of the victims outside, the sources said.

Commissionerate Police had moved the SDJM court on Tuesday to conduct a lie detection on the gangster duo in a bid to verify the information obtained during the interrogation.

Notably, the police on Tuesday unravelled the mystery behind the disappearance of Dipu Mallick and Omm, the former aides of the Dhalsamanta brothers, saying that both were murdered due to some dispute with Dhalasamant brothers.

Police commissioner YB Khurania said, “They (Dipu and Omm) were killed in Odisha and their bodies were disposed of outside the State.”

However, police are investigating whether the two brothers had themselves killed their aides or engaged contract killers for the same. Since 2000, both Dipu and Omm were working as tender fixers for their bosses. Sometimes they were also used as sharp shooters by the D-Brothers.
