Congress women’s wing protest: Demands immediate resignation of Rout from the state cabinet
Bhubaneswar, May 25: Leading to some war of words during a debate on a regional news channel, the quarrel between senior BJD leader Damodar Rout and Congress Spokesperson Sulochana Das has turned quite ugly. The later with the women’s wing of the state congress, yesterday, took out a rally and protested on the same near the state Congress headquarters at Master canteen square, demanding immediate resignation of Rout from the state cabinet for allegedly disrespecting women. The party workers also burnt the effigy of the newly elected agro minister.
Alleging Dama Babu as an habitual offender, Mahila Congress chief Sasmita Behera said, being a senior leader he should know how to respect woman, at least during a TV channel discussion. While on the other hand Das, while talking to the media said that the way Dama Babu behaves with woman is really ridiculous and said that he might be mentally disturbed due to his old age, for which he is behaving so like.
However on the other hand, Minister Damodar Rout had denied of all allegations of insulting or disrespecting any woman on a TV show and has also said that, it is very sad of congress party for giving a woman the post of a spokesperson, thus no one to criticise or blame. And at the last everyone has to agree to what she says or face the heat.
