Bhubaneswar, July 29: Daruthenga village seems to be circulated with controversies and tension for the second day on Friday as the localites continue to protest against dump of garbage in the area.
Like yesterday, irate locals clashed with police during the dumping of waste materials in the area today. They threw stones at the police who also spread tear gas shells to disperse the angry crowd. As per the previous discussion being held, dumping was on going in the area amidst strict security with the BMC Commissioner, Bhubaneswar DCP and BMC officials being present there.
Yesterday, in a major revolt over the garbage dumping issue in the area the villagers had a one to one dispute with the police thus succumbing to minor injuries. The administration had deployed 18 platoons of police force yesterday to keep the situation under control.
