Deep Sidhu Questioned for Around eight hours: Republic Day Violence

Punjabi actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu after getting arrested by Delhi Special Cell on Monday was questioned On Wednesday, for around eight hours by a team of Delhi police and the officers of Intelligence Bureau in Crime Branch office in Delhi.

Sidhu was sent for seven day police custody after he got arrested on Monday, from Haryana. Its been 12 days, since Deep Sidhu is hiding from police after the Red Fort violence. After long hours of questioning the police confirmed that Sidhu was one of the main conspirators who lead the rally towards the Red Fort and instigated for the violence there. “The Republic Day violence was a part of larger conspiracy, than just an occurrence”, Said police officials. And he can be further taken to Haryana and Punjab if required, officials added.

He was absconding ever since as the police searched for him in various places in Punjab and Haryana and even declared a reward of Rs.1 lakh on him and Rs.50,000 for four others ( Jajbir Singh, Buta Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Iqbal Singh) for their alleged involvement in the Republic Day violence.

Another co-accused Sukhdev Singh was earlier arrested from Chandigarh.
