Malkangiri, Aug 12: In another case that questions the government’s various schemes meant for pregnant woman and infants, a pregnant woman, identified as Salavilen Dula of Koikonda, died while being taken to the hospital as the ambulance arrived after significant delay.
The deceased went through labour pain and informed the local ASHA worker. The worker tried to contact an ambulance repeatedly but failed.
According to the deceased’s family members, an ambulance arrived after significant delay and took the patient, who was in severe labour pain by that time, to the MV 79 hospital which later referred her to the Malkangiri hospital.
However, unfortunately the pregnant woman died on the way to Malkangiri.
