Delhi To Make Wearing Of Mask Mandatory: Fine For Violators

Delhi: April 20: Mask is mandatory in Delhi now. In case of violation, one has to pay a penalty of Rs.500. This has been implemented as pandemic situation is slowly deteriorating in the national capital.

Delhi Disaster Management Authority decided on Wednesday in its meeting. As decided, Schools will be allowed to continue with physical classes, but SOPs will be issued for better management. On the other side, government has decided not execute ban on social gatherings but a close watch will be there on all kinds of congregations.

Sources said, DDMA has decided to allow markets and other economic activities to continue in adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Delhi registered 632 cases on Tuesday and it was 501 cases on Monday. In case of positivity rate, it was 4.42 % on Tuesday and 7.72 % on Monday. India overall is again witnessing rise in daily cases. It has reported 2067 cases in 24 hours.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 4,21,183 COVID-19 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 83.29 Cr (83,29,27,938) cumulative tests.

Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 0.38% and the Daily Positivity rate is also reported to be 0.49%.
