Demise of a female Jumbo in Deogarh Jungle

Deogarh: June 9: The Kapisara Jungle in the Deogarh district witnessed the death of a female elephant after she underwent treatment for her ailment. According to the reports, this sick jumbo was being treated by a team of Doctors from Odisha University of Agricultural Technology since last 2 days. Unfortunately after rigorous efforts they failed to save her life and the animal took its last breath on Wednesday night. This sick pachyderm astrayed into the Asurakhola village under Tibeni block on Sunday. Seeing her condition, the villagers intimated the Forest department.

The Forest dept at first were unable to figure out the ailment the elephant was suffering from and then tranquilizer team along with veterinary doctors from OUAT were sent to treat the suffering specie. The Forest dept will conduct an autopsy today to determine the exact reason of the death.
