Puri: June 17: Devotees will not be allowed to touch the Trinity on Snana Mandapa as well as atop the chariot. But, administration will put a one-way barricade for darshan of the deities at Snana Mandapa. This has been decided by Sri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee in Puri on Thursday. Sri Mandir Temple Administration (SJTA) chief Suresh Mohapatra informed about the decision after the meeting. To keep an eye on the movement of the people, Snana Mandapa will be under CCTV surveillance.
The ritual timings of the ceremonies from Debasnana Purnima to completion of Ratha Yatra have been decided in the meeting, sources informed. Servitors have been asked to follow the timings of the rituals as mentioned in the schedule. The meeting was attended by Puri King Gajapati Dibya Singh Dev, servitors of temple and Chief of Temple administration Suresh Chandra Mohapatra.
On the same day, a high level co-ordination committee meeting on Rath Yatra was held at Puri chaired by Law Minister Arun Sahu. Attending the meeting Sri Sahu pointed out the importance on the completion of sanitation, roads, sewerage treatment, and drinking water facilities and also advised the department to check the condition of the preparedness of the facilities to be met during Ratha Yatra from the grass root level.
