Bhubaneswar, Nov 10: After the PM stated to eradicate all Rs 500 and Rs 1000 old currency notes from legal tender but said that these old notes would be operational in Petrol and Diesel pump stations till Nov 11 after which the stations would have to keep a note of the old notes for some time. In spite of this announcement, several petrol pump stations here are refusing to accept Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes and so the Union minister of Petroleum, Dharmendra Pradhan has said that strict action will be initiated against those station which have denied from accepting the same. He has also tweeted regarding the same issue on Twitter. It said,
“We have also instructed all LPG distributors of Public Sector OMCs to accept the old high denomination currency notes for the 1st 72 hours.
There will be strict action against Petrol Pumps/Gas Stations of Public Sector OMCs for not accepting Rs. 500 & 1000 notes for 1st 72 Hrs”, Pradhan’s tweet.
The minister further tweeted in a way requesting people that if they would face any such difficulty at any station then to kindly bring it to the minister or to the Oil Marketing Companies’ notice mentioning the name and location of the outlet either on his or the companies’ twitter profile so that action can be taken immediately against that particular station.
“Request everyone to immediately bring any such violation to our notice with name & location details of such Retail Outlets/Gas Stations
