IAS Officers of Odisha to meet today to discuss assault on Puri Collector

Puri, July 21: For seeking strong action against the Sri Jagannath temple servitors who physically manhandled Arvind Agarwal, Collector of Puri during Niladri Bijje of deities on Sunday in Puri and to bring the issue to the state government’s attention , an emergency meeting is to be held by the IAS officers’ Association of Odisha on Thursday to decide the future course of action regarding the incident.

Two FIRs had been lodged against Damodar Mahasura, Jayakrushna Mahasura, Bhimsen Palankdhari, Rabi Dash, Ipsit Pratihari and Saina Khuntia in charge of misbehaving and threatening to murder, by Agarwal along with Sarthak Sarangi, SP of Puri. But, the suspended servitors are yet to be arrested. The main culprit, Damodar Mahasura has escaped, police official said. For this purpose two teams has been formed and raids at various places of the town is on.
